See what a hosted server includes, run your own today, and bring your friends in.

snug hosting runs a snug server for your group for $29.99 a month, with nightly backups and updates. It isn't taking new customers yet. New hosted servers are coming soon.

Start one today

Run snug on your own Linux machine with a $99.99 lifetime license. You pay once, get every future update, and have no seat limit. You bring the machine; a domain is optional. Set up your own snug server walks through it.

To look around first, open demo.snug.chat, a demo server anyone can join.

What the plan includes

The plan gives you 50 seats, one for each person's account, and 25 GB of storage, in the United States or Europe. Everyone on the server gets every feature, including screen sharing up to 4K at 60 fps and files up to 1 GB. Plan, seats, and billing lists everything included and how seats count.

snug runs the machine and can reach what your server stores, but opens it only when the owner asks or the law requires it. Who can see what says what that covers.

Open a server snug gave you

A server snug gives you arrives in an email: "Your snug server" and its name. Its link works once, within seven days, and signs you in on the server's page in snug hosting. After that, sign in at snug.chat/hosting/login with the same email.

While the server sets up, its page says Getting your snug server ready. Setup takes a few minutes, and the page updates on its own. When it's done, the email "Your snug server is ready" arrives.

Become the first admin

The first admin is whoever enters the admin setup code. Only you see it: it's on your server's Overview in snug hosting, and no email carries it.

  1. Under Become the first admin, copy the Admin setup code.
  2. Choose Open snug server.
  3. Type your name under your name.
  4. Paste the code under admin setup code and choose join this snug.

The code stops working once the first admin exists. The desktop app and the phone app take it too.

Invite your friends

  1. In your first channel, choose invite your people. A link is copied as the invite opens.
  2. Post the link where your group already talks.

Friends open it, choose a name, and they're in. Nobody needs an email address or a password. Each link works for seven days. Invite a friend covers making more and revoking one.

Once all 50 seats are taken, nobody new can join until an admin frees one. Everyone who already has an account still gets in.

Point them at the apps

A friend with only the link joins in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari with nothing to install. The desktop app adds push to talk while you play and keeps the call in your tray or menu bar. The phone app keeps the call going with the screen locked. Get the apps has the downloads.
