Join a server
Open the address a friend sent you, pick your name, and find your way around.
Someone in your group runs a snug server, and the address they share is the only way in. There's no signup and no snug account: open the address, choose the name your friends know you by, and you're in.
In the desktop app, the first screen asks for that address. Type it under server address and select connect.
If it asks for a password
That's one password shared by the whole group. Ask whoever invited you. You'll type it once, when you first take a name here; snug remembers your device after that, so you won't sign in with it again.
If it asks for an admin setup code
This server doesn't have an admin yet. The server operator uses the admin setup code printed during installation to make the first account. The code stops working after that account exists and is not the group's shared server password.
If you've been here before
Don't join again as someone new. Choose Link this device and follow link another device; your name, messages, and roles come with you.
Find your way around
Channels sit in the sidebar; select one to read it. direct holds your one-to-one conversations. The faces near the bottom show who's online. Open them to find anyone, even someone who's away.
To talk, select the voice button beside a channel and allow the microphone when your browser asks. To write, type in the box at the bottom and press Enter. Your settings live behind the gear beside your name, at the bottom left.
