What this covers

This notice covers snug.chat, license purchases, and the snug license service. Each self-hosted community is run by its operator, who controls the information stored on that server.

Information we handle

We handle contact information, purchase and license records, and basic technical records necessary for interaction with the site and purchase of licenses. Our payment provider handles card details. snug does not store your full card number, and the license certificate does not contain an email address.

When a server activates, the license service receives its signed license, a random request reference, an installation public key, and proof that the server holds the matching private key. Later checks send the current signed validation record and a fresh proof. Like any HTTPS service, it also sees the requesting network address, but the activation ledger does not use that address as the license identity.

We run Umami on our own host to measure visits to public pages at snug.chat and the browser demo at demo.snug.chat. On each eligible page load, it records the public site path. Every demo route is recorded as /. The record may also include the referring site, browser, operating system, device type, country, region, and city. Referrer paths and query strings are removed before they reach Umami.

Umami uses the network address and browser details to calculate a session value that changes each day. It does not store the raw network address, set analytics cookies, or write an analytics identifier to browser storage.

Our private monitoring keeps aggregate HTTP request counts and response bytes for snug.chat and demo.snug.chat. This includes requests for the public site, browser demo, checkout, licensing, updates, and downloads. Prometheus groups the traffic by host and, depending on the metric, request method or response status. These traffic series contain no request paths, query strings, network addresses, browser details, cookies, or visitor identifiers.

How we use and share it

We use visitor analytics to understand which public pages people visit. We use aggregate traffic totals to operate our services and plan capacity. We use other information to process purchases, deliver and manage licenses, provide support, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations. Service providers may process information for payments, email delivery, and hosting.

snug does not sell personal information or use it for advertising. The purchase and license services do not receive a community's domain, configured IP address, database, messages, files, call media, or member identities.

The desktop app and community servers do not send snug analytics about what people do inside them. Requests they make to services we run, including update, download, license, and demo requests, are included in aggregate traffic totals. Those totals describe the request handled by our edge and contain no visitor or community identifier.

How long we keep it

We keep information for the uses described above and as required by law. Retention periods vary by record.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Email admin@feltorg.com to make a request. We may keep records when the law permits or requires it.

Tracking and changes

We do not use advertising trackers or follow visitors across unrelated sites. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, snug does not load Umami or send a page view. Our edge still adds any HTTP request it handles to the aggregate traffic totals, which contain no visitor identifier. We may update this notice if our practices change.
